Each week we discuss the biblical passage that will serve as the basis for the upcoming Sunday service. Questions, doubts, insights, and hunches all are welcome. Other English translations are available at https://www.biblegateway.com.
The class is led by our pastor Rev. Scott A. Larson. If you are brand new to bible study, we recommend you do some background reading on the gospel we are studying, such as on Wikipedia. We look into the social context in which the passage was originally written (what was going on politically, economically, and socially?) and investigate the unique perspective of each gospel writer (for example, since Matthew was a Jewish writer writing to a Jewish audience, how does this affect his writing?) as well as talking about what it means for us today.
